I hate to do it, but I’m putting my family’s 1979 Seafarer 26 up for sale. We’ve loved her for three seasons, but the family wants something faster. Switching to a 26’ Lyman. She is a simple family cruiser that sails great. Do some research and you’ll find these boats have an excellent reputation for build quality and smooth sailing. With a little more love to the teak, she’d be amazing. She’s solid laminate fiberglass with 1775lbs of encapsulated lead in the fin keel. 8.25’ Beam, 25.75’ LOA with 3.75’ draft.
New Main Sail from Precision Sail, new main halyard and a new Laminated Mahogany/Ash Tiller from Ruddercraft last year.
Original Jib on hanks and a nice blue Gennaker sails. Have a roller furling, removed it when old Genoa shredded in a windstorm at dock. It’s our first big Sailboat and we learned better using the smaller Jib and then the Gennaker in lighter wind.
Electric start outboard motor is a 79’ 9.8 Mercury 2 cycle with an alternator.
All cushions inside and out are great. Has original, never used Seafarer porta-potty. Has V-birth, two side bunks, flip down table. 1 engine battery and 1 house battery new last year. VHF, lights all run on DC. Battery charger, Flat screen tv run on shore power. Have all the components, but never hooked up, GPS and auto tiller pilot.
Has steel cradle.
First $2900 takes her.
